WEBSITE 2.0

Picture
  What is Weebly?
The online website where you can make your own website for blogging, business, and working.
I was assigned to create an e-portfolio using Weebly as my assessment by Dr. Fariza. First and foremost, Weebly is the first website that I use to blog therefore, I found it mesmerizing and fascinating. During the exploration of Weebly, I have encountered some problem which is Weebly consume quite an amount of data internet connection, next, Weebly has features quite confusing and new to me as well as Weebly does not have an undo button and did not save the previous editing if you happened to be lagging or lost the internet connection. It was quite stressful for me to do it again and again because of the internet connection. On the other side, I managed to overcome the problems by watching Dr. Fariza's guidelines video on Youtube. The video helps me a lot in understanding the features and learning how to publish them. For my Weebly e-portfolio, at first, I decide to put a logo name for my website as 'Educator's Mind' however I found that it is quite easier to put my own name for visitors to recognize my website. Furthermore, Weebly impacts positively on me in the light of fact that I obtain new knowledge on how to build a website and have the information of the website platforms. My skills in writing can be enhanced better in the future and applied on a daily basis as the references of my past work.

ANIMATION - POWTOON

Picture
.What is Animation?
Animation is a technique for creating the illusion of movement in a sequence by photographing successive drawings, models, or even puppets.
For animation, my group decided to choose Powtoon as our platform for animation assignment. Throughout the process, I discover that Powtoon has collaboration features where you can make an animation together with a groupmate. This amazes me on how convenient the feature is. We made an animation called 'Anna and Daddy'. Powtoon was quite familiar to me however I never actually used it for animation and this assignment helps me to learn and increase my knowledge about animation features in Powtoon. Next, the animation is beneficial for teachers to create a lesson more visual and intriguing. This helps visual learners student for better learning exposure. Moreover, this platform helps me to increase my storytelling skills to be on the creative side.

AR AUGMENTED REALITY - BLIPPAR

Picture
What is AR? (Trigger image + video)
Augmented Reality (AR) is an enhanced version of the real physical world that is achieved through the use of digital visual elements, sound, or other sensory stimuli delivered via technology. In higher education, augmented reality is used for a wide range of applications. Faculty use AR platforms to incorporate gamification into curricular and create educational material. Through AR technology, teachers can materialize abstract concepts to help students visualize and understand challenging subjects.

For this AR project, our group chose Blippar as the platform of learning Augmented Reality. In the making of the AR assignment, I have encountered a problem such as my understanding of the project. I have trouble publishing the AR project owing to the need to purchase for publishing subscription. On the bright side, after referring to Dr. Fariza's video guideline on Youtube, I managed to publish the AR project using the Blippar Apps. I took quite some time in exploring the Blippar however, the process was much simple and fun considering that creating an AR only requires a trigger image to be overlapped by chosen video. In short, I can foresee the significance of having this kind of skill inside my classroom for English lesson.

GAMIFICATION - GENIALLY

Picture
What is Gamification?
Gamification is also defined as a combination of actions and activities that use the features of game elements to address problems. Learners learn better when they are also having fun, according to the gamification principle in education. Not only that, but kids learn best when they have objectives, targets, and accomplishments to strive for, all while maintaining a sense of enjoyment for the learner.Gamification in education includes the use of game-based aspects such as point scoring, peer competition, teamwork, and score tables to increase student engagement, aid in the assimilation of new information, and evaluate their understanding. It can be employed in school-based subjects, but it is also frequently used in self-teaching applications and courses, demonstrating that gamification's impacts do not end when we reach adulthood.

For our gamification assignment, we decide to use Genially. We created three games that contain our main topic which is nouns using the examples from the animation project . The whole process quite challenging for us however,  the experiences was fun and informative under the topic of gamification.

MULTIMEDIA MATERIAL - SHORT VIDEO JOURNEY

Picture
I was assigned to make one of the group assignments which was a short video in general theme.  After a short discussion, our group decided to make a melodrama about missing loved ones. We also created one character that going to convey the message of missing someone and played by me and Raihana, my group member. Even though, we faced a problem which was unable to present together physically however we managed to solve the problem by distributing the works by breaking them into parts.
Our melodrama is about the main character who just had her loved one pass away which was her father, even though she looks stronger on the outside but deep inside her heart there is a deep longing for her father's love. This short video convey the message about the deep longing of loved ones and showed the journey of how she encountered or faced the reality.

Along the process, I accidentally cracked my phone's screen protector while filming the scene in the car. Here's the photos of my current screen protecter.

The moment my phone fall down to the ground , i can already sense the screen protecter is going to cracked. This will be one of the unforgettable memory for me in making this short video.

Besides, to make sure each scene is organized, i made a rough sketch for the video and my group decided to make four scenes. I also drew the storyboard for each scene that includes the amounts of shot that going to take, the frame of each scenes, the angles of camera shots and the duration of the shots. Here the photos of my rough sketch storyboard:

In short, i would like to thank my childhood friend and My mother for helping me in making the video successfully. This helps me enhanced my multimedia skills in video making and add new knowledge as well as had a great impacts on me to learn with enjoyment.

To sum up everything that has been stated, I would like to say that I enjoy the whole journey of this course because it was an amazing experience as well as increase my  knowledge .On the ground of this, I would like to say thank you to Dr. Fariza for all of the lectures that you have share with all of us during this course as well as teaching us on how to conduct or manage a  class to be more meaningful and intriguing.
